Skyworth has begun selling its Q9H Wallpaper TV in China with a 27.9mm-thick body, ITHome reported. Prices start at 14,999 yuan.
The manufacturer compares the television’s thickness to a one-yuan coin standing on its edge. The design is intended to allow almost gapless wall mounting.
The television uses an Ultra panel with 4K resolution, a refresh rate of up to 170Hz and BT.2020 colour coverage. According to the manufacturer, it does not use a separate backlight-based colour-space enhancement system.
The hardware includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. Audio is provided by a Harman Cinema System 4.2.2 setup with a claimed peak output of 410W.
The body has a rectangular frame and a separate silver lower module. Skyworth says the finish involves 135 manufacturing processes and uses coatings made by Japan’s Okuno.
In China, the 75-inch version costs about $2,200, the 85-inch model $3,250 and the 100-inch version $4,900. Skyworth has not announced when the Q9H will reach other markets.
