Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed officials to raise the number of artificial intelligence projects in the economy and social sectors to more than 100 in 2026, the Uzbek president’s official website reported.
Uzbekistan has climbed 25 places to rank 62nd in an international AI readiness index in recent years. The country aims to enter the top 50 by 2030.
The authorities also plan to increase the value of AI-based software products and services to $1.5 billion, expand infrastructure and implement more than 200 new projects.
An NVIDIA-powered supercomputer was launched at the Digital Government data centre in July. The cluster reached 90% utilisation within a month and ranked 321st globally by computing power.
The computing infrastructure already commissioned is valued at $24 million. Officials proposed allocating another $70 million to expand the existing cluster, while separate data centres are being developed in Karakalpakstan with foreign investors.
The number of IT Park residents working with AI is expected to reach 300 in 2026. Their services are projected at UZS 2 trillion, with exports of $160 million.
More than 1.5 million users have received specialised AI certificates. Over the next two years, the authorities plan to complete the Five Million AI Leaders project and prepare teaching materials for school pupils, university students and educators.
