Samsung has unveiled the 201-gram Galaxy Z Fold8 foldable smartphone, the company said in an official announcement. It is the lightest device in the Galaxy Z Fold series.
The handset is 9.7 mm thick when folded and 4.5 mm when open. Its 5.5-inch cover screen has an approximately 10:16 aspect ratio, while the 7.6-inch main display uses a 4:3 format. Both support refresh rates of up to 120 Hz and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits.
The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor with Android 17 and One UI 9. It is offered in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations.
The rear camera system has two 50-megapixel sensors: a wide camera with 2x optical-quality zoom and an ultra-wide camera. The cover and main-screen selfie cameras are both rated at 10 megapixels.
Its 4,800mAh typical-capacity battery supports 45W wired charging, 20W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The device also includes 5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and an IP48 rating.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 comes in Graphite, Cream and Lavender, with Pistachio available through Samsung.com. Samsung also unveiled the Fold8 Ultra and Flip8.
