More than 1.5 million users in Uzbekistan have received special artificial intelligence certificates, the presidential website reported.
Separate courses trained 900 executives, more than 3,000 civil servants, 1,000 bank employees and 200 artificial intelligence advisers.
The Five Million AI Leaders project is to be fully implemented over the next two years. Modern teaching materials will be developed for school pupils, university students, teachers and other groups.
Sector-specific hackathons and competitions have been held in Nukus, Samarkand, Termez, Bukhara, Fergana, Andijan, Gulistan and Jizzakh. Officials were instructed to hold them in every region, while a competition for the best AI startup has also begun.
Authorities selected 222 AI advisers to regional, district and city governors from 500 candidates. A separate digital platform is planned to monitor their work, projects and initiatives.
Uzbekistan plans to increase the number of AI projects in the economy and social sector to more than 100 in 2026. The number of specialist IT Park residents is expected to reach 300, with services worth 2 trillion Uzbek soum and exports of $160 million.
