British carmaker Lotus has unveiled the Emira 420 Sport, a lighter and higher-performance version of the four-cylinder Emira coupe.
Engineers enlarged the front air intakes, which the company says improved engine cooling efficiency by 15%. Vents in the front wings are designed to remove turbulent air from the wheel arches.
At 300 km/h, the aerodynamic package is said to generate about 25 kg of additional downforce without increasing drag. Track-focused features include brake-cooling panels and the option to remove the front number plate to increase airflow to the radiators.
The model will be assembled at Lotus’s new Performance Hub at its Hethel factory. The centre also plans to offer manufacturing capacity and engineering expertise to other carmakers.
The Emira 420 Sport is expected to cost about £105,000. The available information does not specify delivery dates or availability in individual markets.
