Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov finished second at the Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz and earned $40,000, the Grand Chess Tour reported.
Sindarov held the runner-up position throughout the competition. The tournament was the first US leg of the 2026 Grand Chess Tour.
Indian grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa won the event and received $50,000. American grandmaster Wesley So placed third and earned $30,000.
The Sinquefield Cup will be the circuit’s next event, running in Saint Louis from August 10 to 19 with a $475,000 prize fund.
It is the final regular-season stop of the Grand Chess Tour. The top four players in the standings will qualify for the August 22–27 finals, which carry a $450,000 prize fund.
