Temperatures across Uzbekistan will rise to 37–40°C this weekend and reach 41–42°C in northern, southern and desert areas, according to an UzHydromet forecast.
Daytime temperatures in Tashkent are expected to reach 37–39°C, with no rain forecast for the capital.
Winds may strengthen to 13–18 metres per second in northern and desert areas. Dust storms are possible in some places.
Some mountainous areas may see brief rain and thunderstorms. Mudflows are possible in isolated locations.
During intense heat, people are advised to stay in the shade more often, drink more water and avoid spending long periods outdoors during the hottest hours.
