Uzbekistan adopted Law No. ZRU–1163 on real estate activity on 7 August, the official legal information channel reported.
The State Assets Management Agency was designated as the authorised government body for the sector.
A real estate agent must work as part of a real estate organisation and hold a barcode-bearing qualification certificate. A professional public association will issue it after the applicant completes training and passes an examination.
A real estate organisation or property agent may provide services from the date their details are entered in the Unified Register.
The law covers brokerage in property transactions, the organisation of property sales, trust management, and information, consulting and advertising services in the real estate market.
The private sector will operate a multiple-listing system. It will support fixed-term contracts through a one-stop-shop model and reliable electronic information exchange.
