Uzbekistan has designated Aug. 31 as an additional day off ahead of Independence Day, which is celebrated on Sept. 1.
People on five-day workweeks will have four consecutive days off, from Saturday, Aug. 29, through Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Employees on six-day schedules will receive a three-day break from Sunday, Aug. 30, through Sept. 1.
Monday, Aug. 31, will be an additional day off for all employees regardless of their workweek. Tuesday, Sept. 1, is the public holiday.
Everyone will return to the regular work schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
