Uzbekistan has established a state body called the National Operator of Cultural Projects under presidential resolution PP-270.
The operator was formed under the Art and Culture Development Foundation from the Culture Ministry’s Directorate of International Festivals. Its existing funding arrangements will remain in place.
The body will prepare international and national cultural events, promote cultural products abroad and engage foreign specialists.
Equipment, machinery, musical instruments, stage props and other goods for events will be exempt from customs duties until January 1, 2030. The government will approve the relevant lists.
The Sharq Taronalari international music festival is due to be held once every two years from 2027. The resolution also sets measures to develop cultural tourism and service exports.
