Uzbekistan’s daily electricity consumption reached a record 301.9 million kWh on 20 July, the Ministry of Energy reported.
The new figure was 29.3 million kWh, or 10.75%, above last year’s summer peak. Demand also rose by 7.5 million kWh, or 2.55%, compared with 18 July.
Peak daytime load reached 14.2GW at 17:22. Power stations generated 305.4 million kWh, up 8.3 million kWh, or 2.79%, from 18 July.
Against the backdrop of high demand, the ministry listed six outages in Tashkent on 20–21 July that affected a combined 3,060 consumers:
- 310 consumers in the Sebzar area of Almazar district, from 13:47 to 18:57;
- 1,500 consumers in Yakkasaray and Chilanzar districts, from 16:11 to 16:55;
- 350 consumers in the Uysozlar area and around Fergana Yuli Street in Yashnabad district, from 16:49 to 22:00;
- 300 consumers in Chilanzar district’s first residential area, from 17:05 to 22:03;
- 280 consumers on Khanabad and Sultanabad streets in Sergeli district; the notice did not give a restoration time;
- 320 consumers on Sebzar and Takhtapul streets in Almazar district, from 05:20 to 07:10.
The ministry said the power system continued to operate steadily. Emergency repair teams were placed on enhanced duty to address faults promptly.
