A dump truck and a service vehicle were involved in a crash at the Muruntau mine at about 5:30 a.m. on July 21, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company said.
Two company employees were killed in the accident. The official statement did not disclose their names or positions.
Law enforcement agencies are conducting a pre-investigation inquiry. State regulators have opened a special investigation to establish the circumstances and causes of the crash.
The company said additional measures were being taken to prevent similar incidents. It did not provide a preliminary cause of the accident.
