Three Uzbek citizens wanted internationally through Interpol have been returned from Turkey, the Interior Ministry reported.
The men were detained in Istanbul in an operation involving Interpol’s National Central Bureau, Turkish law-enforcement agencies and Uzbekistan’s Consulate General.
One of those extradited is a 28-year-old native of Samarkand region who is accused of a serious offence against sexual integrity.
A second man, a 34-year-old native of Bukhara region, is charged in a fraud case.
The third suspect is a 50-year-old Tashkent resident accused of large-scale fraud.
After being handed to Uzbek law-enforcement authorities, the accused were brought to Tashkent. Further procedural decisions will be taken within the criminal cases.
