The first social protection complex in the Tashkent region has opened in Nurafshan, with services organised through a one-stop-shop system, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
The complex is expected to serve about 10,000 people a year from Nurafshan and the Urtachirchik, Pskent, Akkurgan and Buka districts. Around 100 specialists will work there.
The building houses the regional office of the National Agency for Social Protection, the territorial social inspectorate, an Inson social services centre, a medical and social assessment commission and a regional social services centre.
The territorial centre provides five types of services to the most vulnerable groups. Non-government providers are also expected to take part.

The president ordered the number of such territorial centres to be tripled. Authorities plan to increase the number of regional social services centres to at least 90 and place them in districts with high demand and convenient transport links.
