Nearly 350 violations of environmental law were identified during a nationwide improvement campaign in Uzbekistan, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change reported.
The Environmental Police and regional units recorded 62 cases of illegal tree cutting and damage. Offenders were fined under Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, and environmental damage was also assessed.
On 3 August alone, inspectors found five such cases in the Bukhara, Samarkand, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions and in Tashkent city.
Authorities also imposed 285 administrative measures for violations of waste-handling rules under Article 91 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
Seventeen such violations were recorded on 3 August in Karakalpakstan, the Navoi, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Tashkent and Khorezm regions, and the capital.

Inspections are continuing nationwide. The committee said the campaign is intended to protect green spaces, keep communities clean and improve environmental awareness.
