Rescuers recovered the body of a person who drowned in the Yuqori Bozsuv canal in Tashkent’s Yunusabad district, the city emergency department said.
The emergency call was received at 2:07 p.m. on July 21. According to the department, the person entered the canal to swim and went under the water.
Specialist rescuers from the city department and representatives of other relevant services joined the search. The operation continued for more than four hours.
The body was found at 6:35 p.m., about 100 metres from the point where the person disappeared beneath the water, and was handed to the relevant services.
The official statement did not disclose the person’s name or age. No further circumstances were provided.
