Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered liquefied gas output to rise from the planned 520,000 tonnes to 606,000 tonnes by the end of 2026, the Uzbek president’s official website reported.
The measure is intended to balance supply and demand on the domestic market, reduce the risk of disruptions and prevent unjustified price increases.
Officials plan to commission 27 wells in August. Work at the Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Karatau, Marvarid and Tegirmon fields is expected to provide an additional 887,000 cubic metres of natural gas.
The president called for daily oversight of the entire process, from drilling wells to connecting them to the gas transmission system. He also ordered uninterrupted electricity supplies and reliable production infrastructure.
Regions are to receive the required volumes of hydrocarbons on time. Companies must build reserves in advance and coordinate extraction, transportation and sales.
To keep prices stable, the authorities plan to maintain adequate supply, offer products on commodity exchanges in line with demand, and reduce production and logistics costs. Officials were told to prevent unjustified supply restrictions, artificial shortages and attempts to inflate prices.
Responsible officials must analyse domestic demand every day, identify supply risks in advance and take timely action to address them.
