Central bank: Uzbekistan’s reserves rise to $64.3 billion

International reserves increased by almost $590 million in July, with gold accounting for most of the total.

Uzbekistan’s international reserves reached $64.3 billion at the start of August, according to central bank data.

The total increased by almost $590 million in July. The reserves had stood at $63.7 billion a month earlier.

Gold accounts for most of the assets: 13.8 million troy ounces were valued at $56.1 billion.

A further $7.6 billion of the international reserves is held in foreign-currency assets.
