Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed to remove tariff and non-tariff restrictions on nearly 20 types of products from 10 August.
Businesses raised the trade barriers at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Aktau. Solutions were prepared in about a week.
The specific product list and the allocation of tariff lines between the two countries were not disclosed at the business forum in Tashkent.
Bilateral trade grew 37.9% in the first five months of 2026. Kazakh representatives estimated additional export potential to Uzbekistan at 261 product lines.
The countries intend to raise annual bilateral trade from about $5 billion to $10 billion.
Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kazakhstan’s Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs will establish a working group. It will address logistics and border problems and help companies find partners in the two countries’ regions.
