Tashkent attracted $4.3 billion in foreign direct investment and loans during the first half of 2026, 1.5 times the amount recorded a year earlier.
The capital’s gross regional product reached 226 trillion soum. Growth was 13.3% against a forecast of 11.2%, compared with an 8.5% increase across Uzbekistan.
Industrial production in Tashkent rose by 8% to 109.6 trillion soum, matching the established forecast.
Exports by companies in the capital reached $1.55 billion, up 43% from the same period last year.
The city launched 249 investment projects over six months and commissioned new production facilities worth $657.5 million. The projects created nearly 9,800 jobs.
A further 77 projects were completed under the localisation programme. Their output rose by 48% to 4.9 trillion soum, while exports of localised products reached $121.6 million.
