Russia will restrict imports of quarantine-regulated products from five Uzbek exporters starting July 23, Russia’s agricultural watchdog said.
The measure applies to suppliers responsible for the largest number of phytosanitary violations. The agency’s statement did not identify the companies.
The exporters mainly ship white and cauliflower cabbage, onions, dill, parsley, grapes, beetroot and tomatoes. The restriction applies to their quarantine-regulated products rather than only the goods listed in the statement.
The watchdog said 132 detections of quarantine pests and plant pathogens had been recorded in shipments from Uzbekistan since the beginning of 2026.
They included tomato brown rugose fruit virus, South American tomato moth, western flower thrips and beet necrotic yellow vein benyvirus.
The agency said the measure was intended to prevent quarantine organisms from entering and spreading in Russia.
