US officials raised the possibility of sanctions against China’s Moonshot AI after alleging that Anthropic’s Fable model was used to develop Kimi K3, according to statements by Michael Kratsios and Scott Bessent.
Kratsios, who leads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, said the government had information about the distillation of Fable and a large-scale Moonshot platform. His post did not provide independently verifiable evidence for the claim.
