Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed allocating another $70 million to expand Uzbekistan’s existing computing cluster, the presidential press service reported.
The country currently operates computing infrastructure worth $24 million. A supercomputer based on NVIDIA technology was launched at the Digital Government data centre last month.
The system ranked 321st globally by computing power. Its utilisation reached 90% during the first month, which officials attributed to strong demand for computing resources.
The presentation also covered funding sources, equipment delivery schedules and projects with foreign investors to establish data centres in Karakalpakstan.
Ministries and agencies were instructed to check the completeness and reliability of their data, improve interoperability and build sector-specific datasets for AI systems.
Uzbekistan plans to increase the number of AI projects in the economy and social sector to more than 100 in 2026. It aims to raise the value of AI-based products and services to $1.5 billion by 2030.
