16 of the 26 players arrived at Ezeiza airport, led by head coach Lionel Scaloni. The team was given a red carpet and a military band performance, after which the players went to the Argentine Football Association base in an open-top bus.
Messi flew to Miami after the tournament and from there headed to Rosario for a short rest. Argentine President Javier Miley called on fans to respect the captain's decision.
According to Miley, the players did not want to celebrate after the lost final, but the team deserved a worthy meeting for the results of recent years.
