The share of adults who were overweight in Uzbekistan reached 63.7% in 2024, according to data from Our World in Data based on World Health Organization estimates.
This was the highest rate among the 11 CIS countries represented in the 2024 dataset. Azerbaijan followed at 62.7% and Moldova at 61.4%; Brief calculated the comparison.
The indicator is age-standardised and covers men and women aged 18 and over. It should therefore not be interpreted directly as the share of patients with a confirmed medical diagnosis.
Uzbekistan’s estimate stood at 49.4% in 2010. It increased by 14.3 percentage points by 2024, according to Brief’s calculation from the WHO values.
