Additional admission to state universities is available only to applicants who score at least the minimum set annually by the State Commission, according to the current admission rules.
Applicants who meet that minimum but fall no more than 4.05 points short of the admission cut-off pay under a fixed additional-tuition scale:
- a shortfall of up to 1.05 points — 1.5 times standard tuition;
- 1.06 to 2.05 points — 2 times standard tuition;
- 2.06 to 3.05 points — 2.5 times standard tuition;
- 3.06 to 4.05 points — 3 times standard tuition.
Applicants who meet the minimum but are not admitted through the main or additional intake may still use a differentiated tuition contract. The rector or university director determines the amount.
The institution head’s authority to set that amount was confirmed by amendments dated 28 January 2026. The current wording does not impose a mandatory floor of three standard tuition contracts for shortfalls exceeding 4.05 points.
The previous procedure, which provided a separate route for applicants below the minimum score, ceased to have effect on 15 September 2025. The State Commission sets the exact minimum separately for each admission campaign.
