A basic set of school supplies at Tashkent markets is estimated at about 580,000 Uzbek soum for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The calculation covers 22 types of items:
- a backpack, pencil case, notebook folder and school diary — 202,000 soum;
- notebooks of several sizes and sets of book and notebook covers — 142,000 soum;
- pens, graphite pencils, a compass, ruler, erasers and sharpener — 85,000 soum;
- watercolours, brushes, glue, felt-tip pens, coloured pencils and modelling clay — 145,000 soum.
The listed prices add up to 574,000 soum, so the overall estimate was rounded to about 580,000 soum. The most expensive single item is a backpack priced at 120,000 soum.
School uniforms, shoes and sportswear are not included. Parents will need to budget for those purchases separately.
