A total of 35,401 foreign citizens travelled to Uzbekistan for medical treatment between January and June 2026, the National Statistics Committee reported.
Citizens of Tajikistan accounted for 19,096 trips, or about 54% of the total. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan formed the next-largest groups.
The breakdown by country was:
- Tajikistan — 19,096 people
- Kyrgyzstan — 9,552 people
- Kazakhstan — 4,582 people
- Afghanistan — 1,280 people
- Russia — 772 people
- other countries — 119 people
Together, these figures total 35,401 trips declared as being for medical treatment.
On 4 July, Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed officials to promote medical tourism more actively, study international practice and develop hotel infrastructure at hospitals.
