Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered measures to improve the reliability of energy supplies and reduce emergency outages, the Uzbek president’s press service said.
A special task force is already operating in Yangiyul district to address complaints from residents and businesses about outages, insufficient capacity, falling gas pressure, connection specifications and debt.
The district’s approach is due to be extended to 13 more districts and later introduced in other regions. The authorities also plan to make the issuance of technical conditions for electricity and gas connections more transparent.
Ahead of the autumn-winter season, regions are replacing problematic networks and equipment, reducing energy losses and addressing the causes of emergency outages. An electronic system is being developed to track instructions and assess performance against specific indicators.
Regional Electric Networks has been instructed to modernise infrastructure in stages and improve customer service. Uzenergoinspeksiya is to tighten oversight of efficient resource use, technical compliance and energy audits of large consumers.
The government is also considering broader private-sector participation in liquefied gas supplies to mahallas with limited gas access. The Energy Ministry will coordinate winter preparations and the timely implementation of investment projects.
