The second direct Slavic Caravan freight train has arrived in Uzbekistan. The 44-wagon train travelled from Orsha-Vostochnaya station to Chukursay station in seven days.
Belarusian Railways dispatched the second train on 3 August. The route runs through Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
The wagons carried timber, sugar, wood-based panels and consumer goods. The cargo will be forwarded to Akhtachi, Roustan, Nazarbek and Kakir stations.
Direct services are planned to run weekly. According to the organisers, the new service is intended to reduce logistics times and costs for businesses.
The project’s first train left Orsha on 30 July. The new corridor is also designed to carry transit cargo through Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
